Meet The Co-Creator's

Gina

Gina was ready for her Paramedic Reset. Our paramedics are everyday superheroes!! Gina was aware of the psychological ramifications that come with such a stressful but rewarding career. I’m impressed that she was able to take the much needed break from it for her own health.
The level of details that was necessary to tack onto all the Paramedics workload to ensure safety is daunting. The awareness that the Paramedics had of the added potential danger within their job brought Gina to the realization that it was time for her to just take a step back from this whole different level of stress.

Sean

Abusive to Advocate

This is Sean. He’s a formerly self-proclaimed person with abusive behaviors, he has changed his ways and now is an advocate against abuse.

He says he was intentional and premeditated with his verbal and mental abuse. Being a bully and knowing how to not leave marks on his victims.

Sean experienced childhood trauma, was addicted to drugs, and served his time in prison. He understands rock bottom and how to navigate through those learned behaviors now.

Self-awareness of his auto response to certain triggers, the shame, pain, and hiding who he was by speaking through it has helped him over time to become less abusive to now a strong advocate against abuse and a mentor for men.

He credits his healing through speaking his own truth and telling his story while absorbing similar stories as well as having professionals on his podcast speak on the subject.

Trauma/PTSD Stigma

We are getting to the root of trauma/PTSD stigma by discussing how it affects our mind, body, and spirit.

There are so many types of trauma that happen in our lives. The dismissal of our trauma by others doesn’t negate the fact that we feel traumatized.

It can be a life-long journey to manage the symptoms of what happens in our day after trauma. It takes constant work to move through the survivor mentality to get to the place of evolvement. Feeling safe, secure, and stable are guiding posts to help us move through it.

* We aren’t doctors. We are survivors of trauma having a discussion.

Despite what some people may believe, there is a lot of authenticity on TikTok! It’s not all fun dancing and/or showing skin.

Jefffrey feels his most authentic and vulnerable while creating and performing music. Sharing that with our TikTok family has been another level of joy for him. Even though he is diversifying with his music business, he still makes a little time for TikTok.

Stages of Grief

Tina shares her stages of grief after the loss of her daughter. Surviving the mental and physical experience that grief takes on our entire being. How she went from rock bottom to literally digging her way back inch by inch with her garden.

She says “When you suffer everyday your entire being becomes weak! Holding on to your pain and feelings thinking that you’re saving the ones around you is completely insane. I know, I did that. Healing is something you must try but everyone heals differently, everyone grieves differently. You can’t heal unless you deal. By that I mean people are hurting and unless you speak out, cry, vent to a friend, a stranger, you will not begin to heal until you say it out loud even to yourself what is hurting you. I used to think I was crazy because I cried over everything! Dishes, groceries, and simple tasks. I had no desire to do anything for so long. I thought surely nobody could feel like this but me. I was wrong, I wasn’t alone. I wore many masks and faked life, it’s time to take off the mask and be a part of life.”

He didn’t feel comfortable with reaching out for help but help found him. He found a community that has had such a positive impact on him that he wanted to find a way to give back.

Ian Pulka

Gecko’s and Autism

I’ve learned a lot about the connection between Gecko’s and Autism from our friend Ian today! Wow, who knew?

Ian’s passion for Gecko’s and other reptiles started at 12 when his mom just wanted to keep him off the rough streets of California. As his friends were learning how to hotwire cars, he was at his mentors house who was a reptile importer/breeder.

He went on to become a rare Gecko breeder and began doing local shows. Ian found that children with high functioning autism that bought a Gecko or snake from him would report back to him with the healthiest reptiles. The commonality is pattern behavior. Ian says that the kids loved breeding them and taking such great care of them. And that it gave them such a great sense of pride.

This is one of those stories about following your passion and not the dollar signs.

Emotional Repercussions from Covid

Are we addressing the emotional repercussions from Covid? Are we paying enough attention to the mental health aspect that this pandemic is having on most of us?

We’ve been forced to slow down which has made more room for self-examination. This time has given us the opportunity for conversation and validating that we are more alike than we are different. Paying attention to the small things in life. Giving ourselves permission to go within to bring on more self-awareness and personal healing. Going back to self rather than being consumed with things.

Justine opens up about the tools she’s used in her times of struggle. Relearning herself to find small joys that are closer to home. Finding different ways to adapt to our new normal.

Reinventing Ourselves

Lori and Elisa are exploring the tools that work for reinventing ourselves as we’ve grown more mature. We’ve noticed that our perspectives have changed and we are living more intentional without adding too much to our plate.

Are expectations in our society to view being busy as a badge of honor? Maybe not so much as we mature. It’s time to unlearn and re-train our brain!

Elisa is taking better care of her mental health and overall well-being even though she says that focus is her biggest challenge at this time. She doesn’t view self-care as being selfish. We have to protect our own energy, honor our boundaries, and fill our own cup up first before we are able to have an impact on others.

What Impact has Covid had on our Executive Chefs?

His extensive training and experience has led him to a meaningful yet different career path that he’s embraced and enjoys. He has learned how to creatively provide others on a budget and/or on specialty diets with flexible, tasty, and healthy meal plans!

Chef Andre also explains his fascinating culture that still negotiates in order for him to have permission to have his girlfriend’s hand in marriage. Not having blessings from the ancestors and breaking the traditions can be a problem!

Bio

Andre

As a 5-star executive chef, with over 25-years’ experience in the hospitality industry, having worked in South African and in various parts of Africa, I have come to a point in my career where I desire to give back to the community.

And what better way than sharing my years of experience and skills and showing people that anyone can cook anything their hearts desire with the little or more ingredients they have in their very own kitchens. This has led me to develop my online cooking channels.

I am all about fantastic food on an affordable budget, with a twist of Chef Andre!

My mission is to grow people’s skills in the kitchen and to help them create culinary experiences in the comfort of their own home through my interactive and inspiring online training initiatives as well as with one-on-one sessions, both face to face and virtually.

My approach is simple. I excel at sharing my skills in a non-pompous way that doesn’t intimidate my students.

But, I understand that there are times when you just don’t have the time, energy, or creativity to whip up those 5-star meals, so why don’t you let me come take over your kitchen for an evening, and you can sit back and enjoy my culinary excellence.

Bio

Elisa T. Uhrynowski

I have been a stay-at-home mom since 2004 and work part-time as a caretaker, Docent/Educator, and an after-school enrichment instructor. I dabble in crafty things, art, photography and anything that fancies me at the moment!

I enjoy writing, reading, and watching British television. I love Disney, watching old shows I grew up with as a kid from the 70’s/early 80’s. I really love listening and dancing to music, with The Beatles, Queen and Billy Joel as my favorites!

Since becoming a mother, I have learned to live with anxiety, depression and ADHD. It has been challenging, but with therapy and support from others, I have grown quite a bit in the last couple years. I hope to share some of those experiences with you in case it helps others, too.
